Double victory for Steffen Peters at de WDM Palm Beach!!
Last weekend Steffen Peters defended his 2011 World Dressage Masters title at Palm Beach. He won both the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Freestyle. Peters teamed up with Ravel, Akiko Yamazaki's 14 year old KWPN gelding and won the Grand Prix with a record score of 81.383%. This is not only Steffens' personal record in a CDI Grand Prix but also the highest score ever in the Grand Prix at the WDM Palm Beach, Florida. Ravel felt stronger than last year and much more supple. The freestyle wasn't an easy win. British challengers Charlotte Dujardin and Valegro came within five one hundredths of a percentage behind Peters. But Steffen and Ravel prevailed with a 83.70% score and the young British pair Charlotte and Valegro finished second with a 83.65%.
